Rev. Dionatan Ferreira

Rev. Dionatan Ferreira is the pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Amherstburg and Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatham.

Pastor Ferreira was born and raised in Espírito Santo, Brazil. He grew up in the Lutheran Church and, from an early age, was shaped by the life of the congregation: the Divine Service, the preaching of God’s Word, the hymns of the Church, Sunday School, catechesis, and the ordinary faithfulness of pastors, family, teachers, and fellow Christians.

He studied theology at Universidade Luterana do Brasil (ULBRA), where he received his Bachelor of Theology in 2018. He then completed his pastoral formation at Seminário Concórdia in São Leopoldo, Brazil, in 2020.

From 2021 to 2025, Pastor Ferreira served a dual parish in Brazil, Paróquia Cristo para Todos, in the towns of Bonito and Guia Lopes da Laguna, Mato Grosso do Sul. There he learned much from the daily life of the Church: preaching, teaching, visiting, catechizing, baptizing, bringing the Lord’s Supper to the sick and homebound, and walking with people through both joyful and difficult seasons of life.

In 2025, he accepted the call to serve Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Amherstburg and Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatham.

Pastor Ferreira is always glad to meet visitors, answer questions, and speak with anyone who would like to learn more about the Christian faith, the Lutheran Church, Baptism, confirmation, or pastoral care.
